Dr. Kim McGrath

Combining her background in physical sciences and evidence-based sports nutrition with high-performance habit development, Dr. Kim McGrath is uniquely positioned to help you achieve, and exceed your goals.

Kim is certified by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN), has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from UC Irvine. She leverages a technical understanding of sports nutrition with mindset and habits coaching tools she developed through spending two decades in corporate business development to ensure you achieve near and long-term success.

 

She’s coached athletes across strength and endurance sports across the country to help them unlock the power of their diet to set new PRs, improve health and physique, and build muscle. Kim loves strength training, CrossFit, trail running, and has completed some of the most grueling multi-day tactical endurance events across the country.

We offer three options for nutrition depending on your needs. All programs focus on efficient goal achievement while developing long-term healthy habits without restrictive or “gimmick” dieting methods.

Fundamentals

$65 initiation, then $10/month

The Athlete Nutrition Fundamentals program empowers you with information and tools to set up your own nutrition plan. Using the eBook, Athlete Nutrition Fundamentals create your plan based on specific goals (e.g., lose fat, gain muscle, improve training performance) using a combination evidence-based best practices and practical considerations of your lifestyle. Learn how to determine your calorie and macronutrient requirements, select foods, fuel training sessions, and self-monitor. The program does not eliminate any foods, providing YOU flexibility in food choices, and how you want to track your progress. You’ll be receiving monthly emails with new healthy recipes, fitness and nutrition research insights, and other tips. Utilize the members-only Facebook group to ask questions, post recipes, and share successes.

Custom Plan and Tracker

$250 initiation, then $50/month

Ready to take your performance and physique to the next level with a sustainable strategy? After answering a few questions, you will receive a personal, goal-based nutrition plan including nutrition rationale, recommended calories, macronutrients, and meal timing. Using a privately shared tracking file, you will input your progress and receive feedback via email every two weeks. You’ll also be receiving monthly emails with new healthy recipes, fitness and nutrition research insights, and other tips. Utilize the members-only Facebook group to ask questions, post recipes, and share successes.

What you receive:

  • Personalized goal-based nutrition plan
  • Personal tracking file, reviewed every 2 weeks with direct feedback and recommendations
  • Monthly email with recipes, fitness and nutrition research insights, and other tips

1:1 Coaching

This option is a highly personalized and directed experience, ideal for those who want to take the guesswork out of nutrition and build high performance habits. After completing a detailed questionnaire, you will receive a detailed and customized nutrition plan including nutrition rationale, recommended calories, macronutrients, meal timing, and fueling training. Your plan takes into consideration your lifestyle, training, preferences, and other personal factors. For accountability, you will be checking in twice per week, with periodic face to face meetings. You’ll also have access to the private Nutrition FB group.

 

Coaching is likely the best option for you if:

  • ​You have highly specific performance or physique goals
  • You’ve hit a plateau and are struggling to lose weight or build muscle
  • You find that what worked before is no longer working
  • You have a history of yo-yo dieting and are looking for sustainable change and building long term healthy habits

FAQ

Who can join ATR Nutrition?

To join ATR Nutrition, you must be an active ATR member, 18 and older, and have no diagnosed medical conditions that could contradict nutrition programming. If you are uncertain, please first consult with your physician. 

What foods can I/can’t I eat in this program?

No foods are “off limits” but we will be focused on wholesome foods that will keep you feeling great in training, support your health, keep your overall energy level up, and help you stay satisfied.

What if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?

All the nutrition programs can work within your dietary requirements. No problem if you are vegetarian, vegan, or have specific food sensitivities.

 

Do the nutrition programs include specific meal plans?

Meal plans are not offered at this time –  you have the flexibility to decide what to eat. There is a recommended list of foods, and a large variety of recipes will be shared.
